About Magana AI
We're building the voice AI layer for African business
Magana AI exists because African businesses have been underserved by voice AI tools built for the US and Europe. We're changing that — from the infrastructure up.
Why we built this
Africa has some of the highest call centre costs in the world relative to business revenue. Small and mid-sized businesses in Nigeria, Ghana, and Kenya are running 8-hour call centre shifts to handle appointment bookings, payment confirmations, and customer enquiries that should take seconds.
The global voice AI tools exist — but they're priced in dollars, hosted in Virginia, and tuned for American accents. A voice AI agent with 800ms response latency on a 3G MTN line isn't a product — it's a frustration.
We built Magana to be different. Nigerian numbers, naira pricing, sub-400ms latency on West African mobile networks, and compliance with NDPR — not bolted on, but built in from day one.
The name "Magana" means "speech" or "conversation" in Hausa. That felt right.

What we believe
Our values
Africa first, not Africa adapted
We didn't take a product built for US broadband and port it to Africa. We designed the architecture around Nigerian network conditions, pricing in naira, and the compliance landscape that African businesses actually operate in.
Latency is a product decision, not a technical one
A 600ms response feels broken on a phone call. Our entire infrastructure stack — co-located STT, cached LLM prompts, persistent TTS sessions — exists because we believe sub-400ms is the line between a good call and a bad one.
We eat our own cooking
Every feature we ship is one we've tested on real calls with real Nigerian callers. We don't ship features we wouldn't use ourselves.
Transparent by default
Pricing in naira, not hidden in USD. Per-minute billing, not per-seat. Call transcripts you own. No black boxes.
